We have two ways for you to process checks without waiting for the "check in the mail". The check information itself may be received on-line, or by fax, or over the phone.
Using the check information you receive you can create a physical check that you can take to the bank and deposit. We can supply you with the software to do that. It is best to have a laser printer with MICR toner to use this system. This system has no fees associated with the processing of checks.
It is also possible to process check information On-Line. We would set you up with an internet gateway that you would either log in to, or would connect to your web site so that customers could put the information in themselves. There are some fees associated with processing checks this way. The setup for this service is less than a $100 and sometimes free, depending on type of business, credit and other factors. There are small fees for processing checks, typically between 1 and 2 %.
Regardless of the method of processing the check information, you must realize that it is very important that your customer is totally aware of the charges you are applying to their account. Since you do not have a physical, signed check, it is fairly easy for the customer to reverse the charge if they don't agree with it.
